Hi, I'm Laura — I've been a Registered Nurse for 12 years, and a few years ago I left bedside nursing to start my own clinic, formerly known as Laura Ashley Medical Aesthetics.

I was initially drawn to medical aesthetics and the blending of art and science. Helping people feel good in their own skin, and the ongoing evolution of the field, is truly fascinating. However, I always had this feeling that there was something more I was going to bring into my practice. I also had a passion for health and wellness, and felt that aging is more than surface-level. I wanted to offer more, but didn't know what it would be, or how I could blend health, wellness, longevity, and aesthetics into one clinic. My goal has always been to truly make a difference for people, from the inside out, and to help people take more control of their aging.

One day I was listening to a podcast about regenerative medicine, specifically PRP. I was intrigued by the science of using your own body to heal — improving skin quality, facial rejuvenation, and hair restoration. The podcast also mentioned PRP being used to heal joint injuries, prevent surgeries, and slow down arthritis — treating chronic pain and giving people back their quality of life.

And I remember wondering — why is no one doing this here? This not only impacts the lives of people in our community, but also the health-care system overall.

I was sitting in the ICU on a night shift and I just went down this rabbit hole. Reading every article I could find, I was shocked that these treatments had been around since the early 2000s. I couldn't find another RN in Canada offering orthobiologic joint injections. And it just didn't make sense to me — if we're already using PRP for skin and hair, why aren't we using it for things that can actually change someone's day-to-day life? Don't get me wrong, the training is extensive. Learning how to use an ultrasound, and learning in-depth anatomy of every joint in sonography, is a steep learning curve — but I was determined, and knew I would be someone who could make this happen here.

This area is full of active people. A growing, aging population. Rural communities deserve modern care. Our goal is to treat the whole person — your joints, your skin, your energy, your confidence. Whatever is most getting in the way of you, feeling like you.
